This painting began as one image and after working with it quite a bit, became totally another. It took many turns until I was pleased with it. I've used rusted found objects, copper, oil, oil stick, graphite, old wood and sections of other paintings I have done. Never discard anything - when you least expect it, it works!

I didn't really begin this painting to have the feel of watercolor, but as I was doing the preliminary, it felt good just the way it was, so I left it alone. One of the hardest decisions of an artist (that is 'me') is to know when to stop.

A designer in Houston saw this painting in a show and knew her client would love it in her new home.  She wanted to do a triptych as the wall where they were to be hung was large.  She commissioned me to do two others relating to this one.  Somewhat of a challenge, but was actually very fun to do.  This is a painting on top of a painting using a new technique I have developed and I love the outcome.  They are always surprising.  They are going to the framer this afternoon.  Stay tuned for the next two.  Visit my new technique on my website to view others.  Enjoy!
