I rarely do Still Lives (lifes ?) but I loved doing this one and will do more.
I seem to go in spurts of blogging (wish I could be more consistent).  I always

Well...I decided to do this in thinned oils using the 
pencil as shadowing.  I can always go back and heavy
it up with thick oils.  Apologies for the 'snapshot'.  Blurry and
not a great photo and uncropped at that!

First Stage Figurative Pencil Sketch by Texas Artist M. Allison

This is the first time I have posted art in the stages
I work in.  I grabbed a canvas and began to sketch, which
I love to do.  Now...I can't decide what to do with this.
I can leave it alone or use thinned oils and let the pencil be an
integral part of the painting, or maybe do it in heavy oils.
