From my new series (yet untitled).  I love to paint pears
and have done them in many ways.  This painting happened to
be one that, when I thought I had finished, I didn't like.  It 
happens and I really don't like it when that happens.  
I repainted it and now I do like it.  Floating pears, 
suspended pears, whatever.  I think it's fun.

This is one from my new series (that I haven't officially titled yet
but am just calling it 'Collection' for now)
and the only figurative so far.  I painted this background 
with an acrylic glaze, then when it's almost dry I wipe off
whatever is still wet.  It makes a really interesting 'under
painting' that I,m pretty fond of. I then paint away!

Going crazy (literally) with my splashy new stuff.  Somewhat
absract, somewhat realistic...but that's what I call myself - 
an abstract realist.  I do use a glaze for the underpainting so
I guess this is mixed media. Actually, I painted this first with, I think 
every color on my palette, and was NOT pleased, so I scraped
it off and started over, and now I like it.  Worth the paint
and the time!

Wow!  You never know.  This painting has been chosen as a
book cover - y'all may just see this on the stands one day.  I must
say that I've never had this privilege before and I'm pretty proud! It's
just a shot in the dark (a rare thing) when I can paint something in just
a few minutes and have it be a favorite.  I think the stars and the
 moon and all that cosmic stuff just lines up!

This is one of my new series and I can't think of a good
name for it!  It's splashy, muted, whimsical, somewhat
abstract yet still realistic and so fun to paint.
 I've done several and have now done a figurative.
Will post that one soon. Oh, the places we'll go!

I really wanted to paint light and shadow, so I hung this lonely little

ceramic pear on a string and decided he needed a couple of friends.

I suppose this is realistic and I suppose it's abstract. Using both is my art!
