If you look deeply into this painting, it could be a landscape of many places you have visited.  This may be called and abstract, but with imagination, it can become realistic.  It's for you to decide.

One of my favorites (aren't they all?).  Just sold and is going to enhance a dining room wall.  This painting began with a beige background, intending to be an abstract.  As I pondered it, I decided to add the architecture and make it my favorite style, that being abstract realism. To me it has somewhat of a French feel.
I feel it's a little ominous, yet inviting and the buyer absolutely loved it!  Success!

This painting is in my first series of abstracts called 'From Within'.  This particular one is going in the Dutch Gallery Art Show in Dallas at the beginning of November.  It's a new technique I have developed recently and it's always a surprise in the end.
I have been doing quite a few commissions lately, but have found some time to work on this technique.  It's so much fun and now some have become representational along with abstract.  I am going to work on this with my adult students and possibly my younger ones.  I think they'll have a great time painting and developing this style just as I am.
Things have been very busy lately, but it's felt great.  Shows comming up and now the holidays are on the horizon too.  Not to mention the upcoming trip with my three daughters to Santa Fe for my birthday.  How lucky to be traveling with my daughters to such a fun ands artistic place!  O.K., on the other side of my  creativity, I've been constructing a bassinet for my first grandbaby due in February.  Since I'm not the best seamstress, I'm relying on fabric glue.(don't wince!).  It's going to be beautiful, using my grandmother's linens and her guidance and love. She will certainly be there in spirit!

I painted this painting in the window of a store at the Galleria in Houston.  Never have done that before and I must admit, it was a little daunting,  It actually turned out to be great fun as people would stop and look and visit.  I love to paint these horses as I have done several and some the only action paintings I've done.  This one is going in the Dutch Gallery Show in Dallas at the beginning of November, but I'm considering it for a private show I'm having this Thursday night.  Horse lovers anyone?

I was painting all day yesterday and becoming a little frustrated.  I was determined to  do something I liked.  I ever so quickly sketched two figure paintings in about 20 minutes.  Some days are just like that, but when I wake up in the morning, I like to see something that makes me feel good. I definitely believe there's some improvement needed, but I was pretty happy with them - enough to do more.  They were so fun to just do it without hardly a bit of thought.  Maybe I shouldn't think so much!

One of my favorite subjects is figurative, but I've always painted and not just drawn.  It was suggested to me to draw.  I've been teaching my students to draw using an HB and a 2B pencil.  I thought it was about time I went out on a limb myself and tried to tackle this, and so... you're viewing my first.  It was so peaceful to draw and I loved it!  I used an HB, 2B and a 4B along with charcoal - the works!  This is something I want to continue and practice, not just nudes but all types of figures.  Stay tuned!

The client specified that she wanted flowers and that is something I rarely paint, but what the client wants, the client gets!  I was pleasantly surprised and must've been 'on' because I loved it and so did she and that, my friends, IS the best feeling ever!

This painting went through many stages before completion - but I finally did it!  Although I love painting with oils just about more than anything, this was a lot of fun to do.  I guess my signature figurative painting is 'faces without features' - it's oh so mysterious!

This painting was a joy to paint.  As I paint my figures without features, I feel it gives the viewer a sense wonderment as to what the mood and thinking is of the subject.   Where do you think they are going?  It draws you in.
